The North Carolina Democratic Party joins seven states and dozens of cities across the country as they commemorate the 80th anniversary of Cesar Chavez' birth and celebrate the Cesar Chavez Day of Service and Learning.

"We honor his legacy by continuing the fight for improved working conditions, a quality education for our children, and affordable and accessible health care," said Jerry Meek, chairman of the North Carolina Democratic Party. "More than a decade after Chavez' death, his example shows us that we are stronger when we work together."
